Clear your calendar. Call your friends. Bring the family. Metro Arts Alliance proudly presents the 18th Annual Two Rivers Art Expo, the Must.Have.Art Expo, November 12 and 13 at Hy-Vee Hall, at the Iowa Events Center.

Known as one of the finest art marketplaces in the Midwest, Metro Arts' Two Rivers Art Expo showcases the work of 150 local and regional artists. The two-day event features an eclectic mix of artwork, live music, demonstrations and children's art activities.

We are moving downtown to Hy-Vee Hall, which is a state-of-the-art facility with natural light and a connection to the skywalk system. Concessions including both beverages and food fare will be available for Expo visitors. For directions or for more information on Hy-Vee Hall, click here.

$5 Advance tickets at Des Moines area Hy-Vee stores beginning mid-October

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to work behind the scenes. Choose from various jobs, including assisting visual artists and entertainers, helping at the information booth and with children's art activities. We have a spot for you. Besides viewing art in all forms and flavors, you'll entertain the entire family by participating in interactive children's workshops. Activities planned include:

BROTHER TRUCKER

Brother Trucker features vocals and rhythm guitar by Andy Fleming, lead guitarist Mike Fitzpatrick, bassist Lyle Kevin Hogue, and Matt Winegardner on drums.   This Des Moines-based band shows its country roots through poetic lyrics of Fleming backed by the talents of these grounded folk rockers.  Brother Trucker is currently touring throughout Iowa and the Midwest.

 

DON DeCAMP, GORDON McMASTERS AND DALE WAYMAN

These three talented musicians have been playing throughout the state and southern part of the country, being highlighted at the Iowa State Fair.   With Don DeCamp singing and playing the "bones", Gordon McMasters on harmonica and saw, and Dale Wayman on banjo and guitar, this lively trio will get your toes tapping performing old-time country.

ED KAISER JAZZ GROUP

The Ed Kaiser Jazz Group is a nationally recognized jazz ensemble that has their roots here in Central Iowa.   They deliver classic jazz standards by many great artists along with their unique interpretations of popular songs with their own jazz flair.    

 

LAS GUITARRAS de MEXICO

Las Guitarras de Mexico, made up of R.J. Hernandez, Jorge Morales, Juan Estrada and Joe Hernandez, have performing together for two decades.  The talented group performs regularly throughout the area and the Midwest, celebrating the folk-music traditions of Mexico City at community festivals and fairs.

WORLD PORT

World Port explores the world through its music and takes a no-borders approach to style.  The roots of World Port's music come from many different styles from around the world and are tied together through the group's unique voice that uses jazz form and improvisation.
